About Kelly Stewart Maer

Kelly Stewart Maer is a healthcare, government affairs executive with decades of experience in corporate communications and leading state and federal legislative and regulatory campaigns. In her role as the director of public affairs at Capital Health System, she leverages this experience to oversee all public and government affairs initiatives. Kelly Stewart Maer has been with the regional health care leader since 2012, since which time she has been instrumental in influencing the passing of legislation and regulations. She is a strong advocate for health care equality to our most vulnerable populations and the advancement of women and minorities in leadership roles.

Prior to joining Capital Health, Kelly Maer worked as a senior director of government affairs at a national law firm, where she specialized in healthcare, managed strategic planning and communications efforts to promote directives for 35 clients across a 15-state region. She successfully brought about policy changes for clients in a diverse range of industries, including insurance, finance, and film.

Kelly Maer also worked for five New Jersey Governors, US Senator, NJ Senate President, NJ House Speaker, served seven years as an operations director, media spokesperson at Gateway Government and Public Affairs. She has additional experience with the New Jersey Business & Industry Association and New Jersey Transit as a media spokesperson. IN 2003 she was an elected member of NJ Department of Banking and Insurance Small Employer Health Benefits Board. She holds a master's degree in corporate communications from Rowan University and was listed among New Jersey’s 100 most powerful political players five years in a row from 2016 to 2020 by InsiderNJ. And, as NJ top 100 women in politics six years in a row 2015 to 2020.
